"Down but not out!"
A player is in a downed state when they are knocked to the ground upon reaching 0 health. While downed, a player will slowly bleed out for 45 seconds. After which, the player will die, unless revived.
As they wait for revival, the player‘s screen will start to lose color and fade to black and white. The screen will eventually turn red and become blurry moments before their death.
Downed players appear to be sitting on the ground. A "REVIVE" message is displayed above the downed player for other surviving players to easily locate downed teammates. This text starts white and slowly turns red as the player bleeds out. This text is visible through walls.
Without Juggernog equipped, a player gets downed in three zombie hits. With Juggernog equipped, a player gets downed in five zombie hits.
Downed players can still move, but they can only move very slowly. By aligning movement with moving zombies, downed players can be pushed by zombies and move much faster. Getting pushed by zombies while downed allows players to move closer to surviving players to increase their chances of revival. Be warned, however, as this can also lead to surviving players getting trapped on downed players' bodies while the survivors try to maneuver around.
If a downed player encounters an obstacle on the floor while moving, turning around and going backwards often allows the player to get over the obstacle.
Downed players can stab zombies with the Knife and use any pistol or Wonder Weapon they owned when they were downed. Because of this, they may wish to keep a pistol or the Ray Gun on hand in case they are downed. If they do not own any of those weapons, they will automatically receive a Beretta M9 with as much ammo as it had when it was last used or switched out for a different weapon. Even though the Beretta M9 is largely useless (unless Insta-Kill is activated) to downed players in late rounds, they can shoot it if they wish. They cannot use any other weapons until they are revived. If a player has Mule Kick equipped, he/she instantly loses the weapon in Slot 3 once they are downed. Pack-a-punched weapons remain so once the player is revived.
If a player is solo in a server, the game immediately ends once the player is downed since there is no one else to revive them, even with Quick Revive.
Downed Weapons[]
While downed, players can continue to fight using a limited pool of weapons, namely pistols. If a player has a weapon that can be used while downed in their inventory, the player will automatically swap to it upon being downed.
Once downed, the player will be unable to swap between weapons. If the player has multiple weapons that can be used while downed, the player will prioritize using Wonder Weapons over Handguns and prioritize upgraded weapons.
If they player does not have a weapon that can be used while in the downed state, the player will instead equip a back-up Beretta M9. This temporary Beretta M9 will be empty with two spare magazines of ammunition, for a total of 16 bullets. As such, the player will have to reload upon equipping their Beretta M9 before they can start shooting. If the player is revived, they will swap back to a weapon in their inventory and lose access to this temporary Beretta M9.
