For the health of zombies, see Zombie#Health.

The health system is an important factor to gameplay in Project Lazarus as it directly pertains to the player's survival.

Players lose health when attacked by zombies. If the player loses all their health, the player will fall to the ground and enter a downed state.

If the player does not receive any damage for a brief amount of time, they will fully recover their health.

Maximum Health[]

The player's maximum health defines the amount of damage they can take in short period of time before going down.

Players start the game with 100 maximum health.

As each attack from zombies deal 45 damage, players will be downed in 3 hits.

The Juggernog perk doubles the player's maximum health. Players with Juggernog will have 200 maximum health and takes 5 strikes to be downed.

Recovering Health[]

Players can quickly recover lost health by avoiding damage for a brief amount of time.

By default, players have a brief recovery delay of 5 seconds. After 5 seconds of not taking damage, a player's health will be set back to its maximum value, instantly regenerating all of their health.

However, receiving any damage within this timeframe will reset the timer, delaying health recovery.

The Quick Revive perk halves this recovery delay, allowing players to recover twice as fast. Players with Quick Revive will recover their health after 2.5 seconds.

Down But Not Out[]

For more detail, see Downed Players.

Upon taking damage that drops a player's health to zero, the player collapses onto the ground.

Downed players are not dead, but are in critical condition and their health will not recover on its own. If not helped by another player, downed players will slowly bleed out over 45 seconds and die.

Should another player come and revive them, the player's health is fully recovered after being revived.

Trivia[]

  • The exact value of the player's health is not displayed on the screen.
  • Player do not get injured by their own splash damage.
    • However, getting caught in their own explosions can still incur other undesirable effects, such as blurred vision and impaired movement.
