Weapon Upgrade[]
When upgraded via the Pack-a-Punch machine, the Makarov PM becomes the Rat King.
With the Vermin Module, the weapon is gains stacks of the "Rat Pack" buff based on the number of nearby players with the Rat King equipped, increasing damage and handling for each member of the pack. Each stack of the Rat Pack grants an additional 30% increase to the Rat King's damage and multiplicatively reduces the time to aim and raise the weapon by 20%.
Each player holding Rat King within 15m of the player is considered part of the pack, adding a stack to the Rat Pack buff, including the player themselves. The buff is only active when there is at least one other player nearby with the Rat King equipped.
The module also grants a brief speed boost when reloading immediately after a kill, allowing the player to scurry like a rat. Starting a reload within 1 second of getting a kill will activate the speed boost. The fleeting speed boost lasts a total of 1.2 seconds, increasing movement speed by 60% for 0.6 seconds and decaying over the next 0.6 seconds.
The player can only trigger the speed boost once per magazine. If they cancel the initial reload, their next reload attempt will be unable to activate the movement speed boost. The player will need to fully reload their weapon before they can gain the speed boost again.
In addition to the Rat Pack and scurrying speed boost, Rat King benefits from increased damage. The upgraded weapon also gains an increased magazine capacity and a larger maximum ammunition reserve.
