The melee attack is a close-quarters attack using the player's melee weapon that damages enemies.
This form of attack has a much more limited range when compared to the player's primary weapons. Reckless use of melee attacks may leave the player exposed to retaliation.
Unlike firearms, melee attacks do not consume any form of ammunition. This allows the player to strike as many times as this wish without concern of running out of bullets or needing to reload. As such, melee attacks often serve as a method to conserve ammunition for the player's main weapons.
Killing a zombie with a melee attack will award 130 points per kill, so it had slightly higher award than killing with guns.
All players spawn with and perform melee attacks with the knife, which is the only melee weapon to-date.
Hit Detection[]
Melee hits will splatter the zombie's blood onto the the player's screen.
Lunging[]
Performing a melee attack while directly aiming over a zombie within lunging range will cause the player to lunge forward to strike the zombie.
Players can purposefully avoid lunging by starting their melee attack without aiming directly at a zombie. Instead, the player would aim onto a zombie during the swing to ensure the attack connects.
