"Double-action revolver. Heavy recoil. Hits like a cannon." ― Description
The S&W 500 is an American double-action revolver. It is a hard-hitting five-shot revolver that can be only be acquired from the Mystery Box.
The large-caliber S&W 500 deals extremely high damage and has greater penetration than other pistols.
The weapon has very heavy recoil with a very slow rate of fire. Follow-up shots will be slow as the player must recover their aim after each shot. Missing a shot is punishing, especially with the limited capacity of only five shots.
Reloads are relatively slow and frequent due to the weapon's limited capacity.
In addition, weapon has relatively poor handling in many fronts, due to the extra large size of its frame. The weapon has slightly slower aim down sight speed than other pistols. The hip fire accuracy of the weapon is also slightly worse than other weapons in its class.

- Lightweight nature allows for unhindered mobility.
- Can be used while downed.
Cons:
- Very high recoil and slow rate of fire.
- Poor handling for a handgun.
- Slow reload.
- Has to be acquired through chance from the Mystery Box.
Weapon Upgrade[]
When upgraded via the Pack-a-Punch machine, the S&W 500 becomes The Gallows.
With the Hangman Module, the first shot after reloading deals 250% damage if fired while fully aimed down sights. If this shot was a headshot, the bonus damage is preserved for the next shot. If the weapon is fired without fully aiming down sights, the bonus damage will be lost, even if the shot hits the head.
With the increased damage from the Hangman Module, The Gallows can kill zombies with a single shot to the head up to and including round 43 while using Double Tap Root Beer.
While the bonus damage is preserved, a display on screen will play a game of the Hangman spelling game, filling out a random letter for each shot. Successfully hitting all five shots will spell out "Hangman". This text is purely flavor and has no additional effect on gameplay, beyond the bonus damage inflected from the module effect.
In addition to the empowered shots, The Gallows also benefits from increased damage and increased damage multipliers for shots to the head and limbs. The weapon also gains a larger maximum ammunition reserve.
