"Semi-auto rifle. High accuracy. Suppressed." ― Description
The SL9SD is a German semi-automatic assault rifle. It can only be obtained through the Mystery Box.
As a semi-automatic weapon, the SL9SD deals very high damage per shot for its class. With Double Tap Root Beer, the SL9SD is capable of killing zombies with a single shot to the head up to round 14. While semi-automatic, it has a decent rate of fire that can be spammed with moderate recoil. The SL9SD also has decent ammunition reserves that deplete slowly due to its semi-automatic nature.
The SL9SD is best suited for precision use at a medium range. Even if the first shot does not kill, the weapon can swiftly deliver follow-up shots to finish the job. Up close, the weapon may not as potent as due to the cumbersome nature of semi-automatic fire.
Overall, the SL9SD assault rifle prefers to hang back at a slightly longer distance, delivering deliberate volleys to swiftly drop zombies. However, the semi-automatic fire tends to be unwieldy when zombies are up close. In the later stages of the game, zombies may take too many shots to kill and the semi-automatic nature of the weapon becomes more detrimental than beneficial.
Pros & Cons[]
Pros:
- Highest per shot damage of all assault rifles.
- Deliberate shots can swiftly take down zombies.
- Moderate recoil and good rate of fire allow for quick followup shots.
- Decent ammunition reserves.
Cons:
- Lower overall damage output due to semi-automatic fire.
- Use requires precision.
- Tends to be less effective than other full-auto assault rifles up close.
- Has to be acquired through chance from the Mystery Box.
Weapon Upgrade[]
When upgraded via the Pack-a-Punch machine, the SL9SD becomes the Deafening Silence.
With the Stealth Attack Module, the upgraded weapon deals 150% damage for the first 25% of each magazine.
In addition to the increased damage for the opening rounds of each magazine, the Deafening Silence gains increased base damage and a higher multiplier for shots to the head. The upgraded weapon also has a larger magazine capacity and a larger maximum ammunition reserve.
